Its objective was to improve reliability, maintenance control, and enable full visibility of vehicle TCO, while also enhancing cost traceability, operational efficiency, and financial accountability across the fleet.

He was promoted before completing the 3-year program, becoming Lead of the Technical Office for Engineering – Maintenance area.MPT is the public transport operator of the island of Malta. The company manages a network of approximately 125 urban routes, operated by a fleet of around 450 buses (electric and diesel, EURO 5 and EURO 6; 12-meter, 9-meter and minibuses), and employs over 1,200 staff.The Engineering Department oversees a large-scale operation involving Workshop, Stores, Infrastructure & Fleet management, supporting a fleet of over 450 buses and more than 120 technical staff. The Technical Office is a transversal unit within the department, providing strategic and operational support across all engineering functions, with a focus on project management, digitalization, and continuous improvement.Responsibilities:- Budgeting & Department Oversight: collaboration in fleet-related budget creation, Monthly Management Report preparation to the board (monitoring key operational KPIs: VOR, breakdowns per 100,000 km, fuel consumption, ECK, inventory rotation).- Project Management & Digitalization: promotion of technology projects related to fleet, operational processes, refuelling infrastructure, and digitalization initiatives within the department.- Training & Support: Design and implementation of technical training programs for mechanics, managers, and administrative staff, aligned with operational needs and strategic objectives.- Process Optimization & Audit: coordination to maintain high quality control in fleet, fleet operations & refuelling infrastructure, and process auditing across the other units of the department.
