As a Cloud & DevOps Engineer Consultant working within a cross-functional platform team inside the client, I am responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing a globally distributed AWS cloud infrastructure, supporting multiple development teams and production workloads.

The platform operates across multiple regions, handling regional data ingestion and pre-processing in S3, and securely transferring processed data to Frankfurt (EU) to serve downstream clients.

Key responsibilities and technologies used:

Cloud Infrastructure: Design and operation of multi-region architectures on AWS

Infrastructure as Code: End-to-end infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Terragrunt, with continuous security and quality improvements.

CI/CD: Design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including container build workflows and image management with Amazon ECR.

Containers & Kubernetes: Operation of multiple EKS clusters, using Helm, Karpenter for autoscaling, and Velero for backup and recovery.

GitOps: Application and workflow deployments using ArgoCD and Argo Workflows.

Observability & Logging: Monitoring with Prometheus Stack and Grafana, centralized logging with Fluent Bit and CloudWatch.

Security: Secrets management with External Secrets and AWS Secrets Manager, certificate automation using cert-manager with Traefik, and security reviews via AWS Security Hub.

Operations: Ownership of daily operations, incident resolution, and regular dev → prod releases, ensuring stability of production and development environments.

Collaboration: Close collaboration with development teams using Jira and Confluence.

As a DevOps Engineer in a cross-functional team supporting all development teams, I am responsible for managing and optimizing our infrastructure and development processes. My role includes a wide range of responsibilities, from system administration to implementing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our systems.

Cloud Infrastructure: Managing and deploying resources on AWS.

CI/CD: Building and maintaining pipelines using Gitlab CI/CD.

Code Quality: Implementing code quality checks with Sonarqube.

Infrastructure as Code: Using Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning.

Configuration Management: Automating system configuration with Ansible.

Scripting: Developed automation scripts using Bash and Python to streamline various processes

Monitoring and Logging: Setting up and maintaining monitoring systems wit hGrafana Suite and Prometheus.

Container Orchestration: Managing Kubernetes clusters using Helm and EKS.

Collaboration Tools: Utilizing the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) for project management and documentation.

In this technical role, I collaborated closely with the CTO and the AWS Infrastructure Lead of the consulting firm to coordinate the CI/CD demands for five development teams, each with a dedicated instance for different clients. My responsibilities included overseeing the implementation and maintenance of continuous integration and delivery pipelines, as well as managing cloud resources and costs.

CI/CD Coordination: Managed and developing YAML CI/CD pipelines for five development teams in 12 Organizations using Azure DevOps CI/CD into AWS Infrastructure

Code Quality: Ensured high code quality by integrating SonarCloud into the CI/CD pipelines.

Infrastructure as Code: Using Terraform and for infrastructure provisioning in AWS.

Cloud Resource Management: Managed and optimized cloud resources and costs on Azure.

Scripting: Developed automation scripts using PowerShell and Python to streamline various processes.

Collaboration Tools: Utilized the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) for effective project management and documentation.

By effectively coordinating with technical leadership and utilizing these tools and technologies, I ensured the smooth and efficient operation of our CI/CD processes and cloud resource management.
