Acerca de Tyler

I am a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer with over six years of hands-on experience at Boeing, primarily supporting the B-1B Full Scale Fatigue Test program through structural repair design, 3D modeling, technical documentation, and close collaboration with stress, manufacturing, quality, and field teams. My background spans composite and metallic repair development, CATIA V5 design, project coordination, and iterative problem-solving in high-pressure environments.

In 2024, I relocated to Europe to continue growing personally and technically while expanding my language skills in Spanish, French, and German. After spending a year in Germany adapting to a new culture and preparing for the next stage of my career, I’m now seeking an opportunity to bring my design experience, global perspective, and analytical mindset to a collaborative and innovative team. Having developed a foundational to conversational level of Spanish, and continuing to improve it, I’m excited to contribute to a team in Spain.

  • The Boeing Company
Structural Design Engineer: B-1B Bomber Full Scale Fatigue Test (FSFT), Boeing Defense & Space
    DEFENSA & EJÉRCITO
    marzo de 2018 - mayo de 2024 (6 años y 2 meses)
    • Developed and released end-to-end structural design solutions using CATIA V5 for composite and metallic repairs on legacy aircraft, aligned with lifecycle sustainment and airworthiness objectives.
    • Modeled complex 3D geometries and authored 2D detail and installation drawings with CATIA/ENOVIA, applying GD&T and tolerance stack-up principles to ensure manufacturability and conformance; also performed project maintenance including drawing revisions, engineering change incorporation, Bill of Materials creation and updates using CMPro.
    • Partnered with cross-functional teams across the U.S. - stress analysts, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, mechanics & technicians, and Air Force customers—to streamline coordination and resolve technical barriers.
    • Applied 3D scanning and additive manufacturing technologies to assess as-built configurations and validate repair concepts prior to release, minimizing rework.
    • Delivered ship-side support at Ellsworth Air Force Base, with more regular visits to Boeings' Seattle Design Center to oversee tooling implementation, evaluate installation challenges, general project progress, and collect field data to inform iterative design improvements.
    • Refined existing designs through iterative feedback loops and field data integration, ensuring alignment with testing outcomes and structural performance goals.
    • Supported process improvement initiatives to enhance PLM workflows, increase drawing quality, and eliminate non-value-added tasks across the design lifecycle.
    • Mentored junior engineers and participated in cross-site collaboration initiatives, fostering knowledge sharing and consistent application of best practices across design teams.

Project Engineer: B-1B Bomber Full Scale Fatigue Test (FSFT), Boeing Defense & Space
    DEFENSA & EJÉRCITO
    junio de 2023 - mayo de 2024 (11 meses)
    • Took initiative to support FSFT program acceleration by identifying and managing supplemental engineering projects during test downtime and cycling periods.
    • Facilitated bi-weekly coordination meetings with 10+ project leads, ensuring alignment on the status, priorities, and execution of over 18 concurrent initiatives across the full- scale fatigue test program.
    • Compiled and maintained a program-wide status dashboard and presentation deck, which was regularly delivered to the U.S. Air Force customer and the broader B-1B Air Vehicle leadership team to communicate progress and drive stakeholder engagement.

    Noteworthy Projects:
    DEFENSA & EJÉRCITO
    marzo de 2018 - mayo de 2024 (6 años y 2 meses)
    • Lower Wing Skin - Lead Design Engineer on a highly visible project for a critical 14 inch (~35.5 cm) crack on the Lower Wing Skin whose completion was essential to the restart of the FSFT Wing Test. One of the largest composite bonded repairs in the company, resulting in moving forward the deliverable date of the project and returning the test back to cycle by 3 months. Used NRPD and constant flowing communication between OKC, Air Force and Seattle Teams to keep everyone up to date and eliminate rework.
    • Stub Skin Repair - Identified possible future damage and created a proactive repair to help mitigate downtime on the FSFT Fuselage Test. Leveraged technologies such as 3D Scanning for enhanced insight to the 'as-built configuration' of the jet & 3D Printing to produce an inexpensive test-fit repair, ensuring proper fit up and minimizing rework, before releasing the final product.
    • Tooling Design - Frequent visits to Ellsworth Air Force Base involved firsthand observation and documentation of different shop aids and tools used in unique repairs. Employing CATIA V5, the modeling of these tools and the development of user- friendly procedural guidelines for effective fulfillment were accomplished through close collaboration with the mechanics.
    • General Structures Task Focal - Served as the Task Focal for a General Structures Engineering Assignment task spanning multiple groups. Utilized professional connections to ascertain the availability of Boeing- approved parts, leading to the elimination of unnecessary designs and accelerating the release date of the drawing by 2 years.
    • CDRL Resubmission - Led a group of 4 engineers in establishing and releasing multiple complex repair drawings. Despite a tight timeline, the team achieved an on- time delivery to the customer.
    • Recipient of multiple Employee & Managerial Recognition Awards.
