Aixa Riveros Barud

Having trained in Córdoba, Washington D.C., London and Paris, I have been working in the freelance translation and interpreting industry for more 10 years. I also have experience in translation and interpreting project management in several international companies.

With a strong focus in Human Rights and Gender issues, I have translated and interpreted for private clients, NGOs, translation agencies and international organisations such as the International Commission of Women, the OAS, the UNDP, Amnesty International, and ParlAmericas, to name a few. In the same token, I have volunteered in the linguistic field for several NGOs and CSOs.

In terms of qualifications, I hold a BA in Translation and a Graduate Specialisation in Interpreting from UNCórdoba and I am a Graduate of the MA Translation and Interpreting from the University of Westminster, London.

Among my teaching experience, I have been in charge of theoretical and practical modules at the National University of Córdoba and the National University of La Rioja in the subject areas of English Grammar, Contrastive Linguistics, Interpreting and Spanish Language. I have also taught general English for adults and English for medicine, tourism, finance, among others.

As for my skills, I have acquired liaising, negotiation and multitasking skills from my work in several areas of the industry, together with analytical skills and great attention to detail, which are key in the cognitive process carried out when interpreting simultaneously.
