Andy Ruiz Muñoz

I am Andy, a Cuban filmmaker, digital creator and entrepreneur with more than 15 years working on cinema, television, live music, new technologies and digital media.

I immersed myself very early in computers and programming until the moment I had my first digital camera, my passion for visual storytelling flourished making my life a unique fusion between limitations, technology and creativity.

During the period between 2012 and 2021, I had the privilege of directing, photographing and/or editing numerous concerts and studio sessions with excellent musicians in various corners of the world. This trip took me to weave experiences from Cuba to Spain, the United States, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Bolivia.

In 2016, I decided to change the game and focus on producing 360-degree content, virtual/augmented reality, and transmedia storytelling. Shortly after, I became a trusted photographer for Google Street View, with 8,2 million views to date.

An important part of my work includes having been creative director and producer of Revista Play-Off from 2015 to 2019, a pioneering independent sports magazine in Cuba. In 2016 I co-founded [lumbermedia] with 3 friends, a startup dedicated to producing augmented and immersive content, and in 2022 we create CANAL Transmedia, a journalism platform fused with extended reality.

Although I had to temporarily pause these projects to leave Cuba with my family after there were no life options left there. I currently reside in Seville, where I have co-founded VISIT!O, an exciting project.

At VISIT!O we bring extended technologies (XR) closer to the physical world, redefining the relationship between people and their memories.

As the creator of XR, my mission is to use technology to enrich and renew our relationship with reality, creating innovative solutions that expand human experiences and generate a positive impact on society.
