I am an active researcher with a PhD focused on the field of ecology and evolution, and in parallel, several specializations in different areas of data science.
In the field of ecology and environmental management, I have in-depth experience in functional and phylogenetic ecology, geographical niche, biological invasion, landscape ecology, land use and biodiversity conservation, climate forecasting, forestry, and long-term surveys.
Related to data science, my pronounced expertise relies on:
- I have in-depth knowledge of the R language and secondarily of Python;
- Extensive experience in statistical modeling in its various aspects, with special knowledge in predictive models, from typical linear models to machine learning;
- Experience in working with the creation, structuring, and analysis of large databases;
- Aptitude in the production of analytical routines (e.g., coding scripts);
- Generation of analytical reports;
- Data visualization;
- Training of teams in analytical routines.
I am the director of the Beta Analitica venture (which manages a team of highly qualified professionals in Latin America, offering services and courses in various areas of data science.
I was the first author of textbooks focused on predictive modeling (linear and non-linear) in R;
I have analytical routines publicly available on different platforms (e.g., GitHub, FigShare, Zenodo, YouTube).
