Miriam Hayes

I’m a Staff Software Engineer with over 15 years of experience building scalable, reliable, and user-focused backend systems and web applications. My core strengths are in Golang, Ruby, Java, and microservices architecture, with deep experience in high-availability APIs, real-time data, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).

My background blends engineering and design — I learned to code early (Logo, BASIC, C) and hold a BFA in Industrial Design. That foundation gives me a practical, user-centered approach to solving technical problems.

I’ve contributed to and led engineering efforts at PrizePicks, Wrapmate, Autonomy, Trendkite, and Silvercar, working on distributed systems, ad tech, real-time scoring services, and developer tooling. I’m passionate about architecture, performance, and delivering impactful features at scale.

While most of my career has been in full-time engineering roles, I also bring the flexibility and autonomy of independent development work. Outside of work, I’m a lifelong maker—welding, 3D printing, and building things both physical and digital.
