— Hola. I'm Steve, a freelance designer based in Madrid. I specialise in branding/Identity, packaging and editorial. I have had the pleasure of working as Senior Designer at award-winning multidisciplinary agency, Culdesac™, and more recently as Senior Designer and International Relationship Manager at highly acclaimed design studio, Lavernia & Cienfuegos.

On a professional level, I am a highly versatile senior designer involved at various stages of the design process, including research, strategy and design. I studied Typography & Graphic Communication at The University of Reading, which has led to a typographic approach in my work. Since graduating I have worked for various printers and then for design agencies, consolidating the two to offer creative design solutions with a high degree of technical know-how and viability. I finally became freelance in 2017. My experience has led me to work with diverse international clients, spanning multiple sectors, and for design agencies in both London and Spain. Thus I am quick to adapt to new projects, briefs and creative environments. I am equally at ease designing the identity for an exclusive couture fashion label (Delpozo) as I am developing the global packaging design principles for an FMCG (Unilever), crafting bespoke typography or creating digital touchpoints for brands. Essentially I help clients develop and communicate their brands and products.

On a personal level I am a bilingual, dual English/Spanish national. My passions are sports, travelling, food and design. I run up mountains, surf, and race through mud and obstacles to clear the mind from the creative grind of the studio.

I work directly with private clients and I also collaborate with design and advertising studios on identity and graphic related design projects. Recent work includes developing the brand and producing brand guidelines for À Punt, the new Valencian TV channel for AftershareTV agency, and creating the identity for houseware retail brand, Conlia Home for Culdesac™. Private clients include tech company, RootwaveTM, a leader in the development of electricide technologies and URAVN, a new app, which delivers beauty on the go.

Projects of note include the prestigious rebranding of DELPOZO (Jesus Del Pozo), a brand synonymous with Spanish fashion, into an exclusive high-end fashion label. Identity rebrand and campaign for a Madrid borough, including logo, brand guidelines and teaser advertising campaign. MiP is a marketing agency specialising in financial services. They help some of the biggest brands in the sector communicate with clients and showcase their products. As Senior Designer I created brands for foremost industry events, from invites and event packs through to digital and staging. I produced high-end corporate literature and managed weekly design and production meetings.
