Acerca de Amaia

I have worked for the last 8 years in several Advanced Data Analytics projects in different companies, combining quantitative and qualitative methods with inductive approaches and Artificial Intelligence models from the Computational Social Science field such as NLP, Statistical Analysis, Social Network Analysis (SNA), and Reticular Discourse Analysis (e.g., Semantic Analysis).

This experience allows me to provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations across various industries, including market research, digital marketing, and business intelligence. As a Senior Data Analyst, I specialize in extracting meaningful patterns from complex datasets, optimizing decision-making processes, and helping organizations leverage AI-driven analytics for competitive advantage. My expertise is particularly valuable in sectors where understanding consumer behavior, opinion dynamics, and emerging trends is critical, such as e-commerce, media, consulting, and governmental organizations.

In parallel, in my doctoral thesis at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), my area of specialization focuses on computational sociolinguistics. This emerging discipline, which integrates sociolinguistics with computational methods—often leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools—enables me to conduct in-depth analyses of discourse and linguistic interaction to understand the construction and negotiation of meaning in multilingual and multimodal digital environments.

Specifically, my research examines the use of Basque in social media, analyzing how register and code-switching, as well as translanguaging, occur in conversations involving a minority language. To achieve this, I employ a combination of quantitative and qualitative computational methods.
