CONTEXT / OBJECTIVE:

Daily operational management of the MOL (Mobile Outbreak Laboratory) pilot in Central African Republic, a new innovation project from MSF. It is a lightweight, robust, and easily transportable mobile laboratory that can be deployed in very remote areas, that needs to be integrated in the national health system as an emergency tool for outbreak response.

RESULTS:

- Met with key partners (from Ministry of Health, WHO, Institut Pasteur, etc.) to strengthen the collaboration and to improve the integration of the MOL in the national health system

- Analyzed current issues impacting the MOL operations and proposed an action plan

- Reviewed the full operational lifecycle of the MOL and updated the Standard Operations Procedures;

- Organized training sessions for laboratory technicians and logisticians from partners and the Ministry of Health

- Prepared a Target Product Profile for cold chain issues

- Fostered continuous innovation spirit in the logistics area of the project (solar energy, stock management, etc.).
