I'm Sergio. I've spent over 15 years building data platforms, software architectures, and the cloud infrastructure underneath them - for companies that need their systems to keep working as the numbers get bigger.

I started in [short backstory, e.g. "backend engineering for online gaming"], moved through senior engineering and architecture roles. I've been fortunate to take on engagements with Tipico, MeDirect, Aspire Global, NeoGames, Blueground, Milmoh, and Samegrid — across online gaming, banking, real estate, and SaaS.

The work usually falls into one of four shapes:

— Architecture reviews. A focused look at what's working, what's about to break, and what to change.

— Project delivery. Designing and shipping a defined component: a streaming pipeline, a backend service, a data warehouse, an integration.

— Fractional technical leadership. The senior input a team needs but doesn't yet justify a full-time hire.

— Troubleshooting and optimisation. When something is slow, fragile, or expensive and nobody is quite sure why.

The stack I lean on hardest: Kafka, Flink, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Iceberg, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, Java. I'm equally at home at the whiteboard and in the editor - I write the code I architect. I'd rather pick boring tooling that fits the team's operating model than chase whatever's trending. Most of the platforms I'm proud of look unspectacular from outside; that's the point.
